Searching for the Night of Power, Finding the Heart of Love Imam Bilal, Saturday, May 16, 2020 10:30 AM - 1 PM PDT

“Love is a secret turning in us that makes the Universe turn.” Secret Turning – Mevlana Rumi

Because you have a heart, you will fall in Love. Many an eye burns with tears of guilt and disappointment. Even a broken heart gently rests in the Hands of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate.

Everything has a Heart. Like you, the Earth has a Heart – the Ka’aba Sharifah is that Heart. From time immemorial, countless pilgrims gather around to kiss the Black Stone. Every day millions upon millions turn toward Her in prayer.

The Throne of Allah is the Heart of the Heavens. Angels of Light are forever flying around it celebrating by singing songs of Love.

Every Year has a Heart – the sacred month of Ramadan. And the Heart of Ramadan is the Night of Power, “which is better than a thousand months.”

The Night of Power has a Heart – the Hour of Stillness. To find this one Hour within the Heart of the Night is said to be better than a thousand years.

Even this Hour has a Heart – a Moment of Eternity. In this moment, the Holy Spirit and countless Angels descend in cascades of Light into the Heart of the Lover.

Remote attendance only (other than our audio-visual hero, Kevin) is planned using Zoom, with video of Imam Bilal. Advance acknowledgment if you plan to attend remotely is very much appreciated (shukran). Please contact Subhana at subhana@nuraniinstitute.org to register (suggested donation $50 to $100; available to regular contributors), and to arrange donations if you aren't local. Please make checks for donations to Nurani Institute, a religious 501(c)3 non-profit. Recordings available afterwards, same price as attending (included with registration). In any class, there may need to be changes based on Bilal’s perceptions of the needs of the moment. .
